We are a mother/daughter team who share the love of creating.

Creating has been in my blood forever. First was sewing clothes for my kids when they were little and decorating the house. Then followed the art of quilting. I love the therapeutic nature of the hand quilting stitch and being snuggled into my finished creation.

Then came painting on any surface that didn't move. Our final stop has landed with jewelry. The wealth of beautiful beads and stones that are available gives constant inspiration allowing us to interpret them into fun or delicate and unique creations to accent your wardrobe and home.

I need some HELP/ADVICE

I have just learned about a site that I can promote my pieces on but I know nothing about the site. This site is kaboodle.com. I have tried to set up a syleboard, but for some reason it just continues to refresh the page. It's been doing that for about 10 minutes now. I am hoping that someone out here has some information as to how to use this site to benefit me and see if I can get my first sale. I have gotten lots of compliments on my pieces and I GREATLY appreciate those compliments. :) However, I have been trying to sell my pieces online for about 6 months now and still have not had a sale.

Should any one have any information on how to use this kaboodle.com or better ways to promote my items in the hopes that I can finally get that ever so shy first sale, I welcome any comments, whether they are to critique or compliment. Thanks in advance for any help any of you are willing to share with me. Have a great day and kudos to all.

P.S. Please check out this artisan, Silver River Jewelry. She has some absolutely beautiful pieces in her shop.

Silver River Jewelry

Today, I am promoting a very special shop. I have chosen this shop to promote for the next couple of days because I feel that she deserves this attention. Above are some examples of her work.
From the Artisan:

Fine artisan jewelry made with a variety of techniques including wire wrapping, metal smithing and lapidary (rocks). I make elegant, affordable, well made jewelry with a touch of whimsy
Artisan's Bio:

I have a passion for my family, the outdoors and designing jewelry. I am also an avid reader and enjoy being on the water. I love summer and am not so thrilled with winter (this is an issue since I live in Ohio lol!).

I love what I do. For me the whole process is fascinating. It is like treasure hunt, from finding the perfect combination of stones or beads, to manipulating the metal with hammer and fire. Digging a stone out of the ground that looks like nothing special only to open it up and find beauty inside. There is something elementally satisfying in that.

Sterling Silver Dangle Anklet

Originally I had made this anklet for my sister-in-law. She really loved the colors of this and the fact that it was so versatile. She could wear this when she dressed up or when she was just going to the to the store for groceries. It is very elegant, but also very practical for the every day wear.
I have take a .925 sterling silver diamond chain and attached white freshwater cultured pearls, clear AB swarovski crystals, and Indian sapphire swarovski crystals. Each piece that is attached I have used .925 sterling silver eye pins. Each set that dangles from the chain is accented with sterling silver spacer beads. To finish this anklet, I have used a sterling silver lobster clasp.
I have added a 2" extension to this anklet, because the size of anklet vary so much. At the end of this extension I have added a similar version of all of the separate sections that dangle from the anklet. The original length of the anklet is about 9" and with the extension it measures about 12". Should you have any questions or comments, please let me know. Happy Shopping!!! What would you like to see next? earrings? necklace? bracelet? anklet? let me know...

Check out My Newest Pair of Earrings

Capri Blue EarringsSo these are my newest creation. I have used Blue Capri and Clear AB Swarovski Crystals. The chain used for these earrings is .925 sterling silver. I really like these earrings because they are not really long but they are just long enough to accent your face. I almost kept these for myself instead of putting them into my shop. My daughter told me that I wasn't willing to let her have the Twilight bracelet that I made then I wasn't able to keep these for myself. LOL So here they are, gorgeous and stunning!! Please feel free to let me know what you think of these. These can be found at my art fire shop.

Still New to Blogging and Internet Sales

So today I recently discovered a new application. This application is really cool and it allows you to be able to put your pics into a slide show and then show that slide show on your blog or your website.
Since I am still new to all of the things that are available online, this was a very cool find for me. I was able to enter that slide show onto my shop site here as well as my facebook site and also my blog.

So of course, I had to e-mail the link to all of my friends and family telling them, "LOOKY, LOOKY, look what I just did!" I know that most of you on here probably know about this little site already, but for someone who has not been online selling my stuff for very long, this is very cool.

Should anyone have any other suggestions or recommendations for me, please send those comments my way. At this point, since I still have yet to have my first sale online, any help you can give me will be appreciated.

Mothers Day Gifts

So the other day I was out with my mother and I asked her what she wanted for Easter, and she tells me nothing. We argued back and forth for a little while and then the subject was dropped.

A little while later I asked her so that do you want for Mothers Day? She tells me that there isn't anything that she wants at the this time and for me not to worry about it. I then began asking her what she liked in the store and if that was something that she would like. So would answer, but nothing really jumped out at her and said "You really need this".

So we continued through the store and then we ran into a friend and we started talking. We talked for a while with our friend and then we went our separate ways. Once my mother and I were alone, I asked her what she though about the necklace that our friend was wearing. My mother said that she really liked it and thought that it was very pretty. So then I decided that I would make my mother a necklace that similar to the one that we saw our friend wearing. The above picture is what I came up with. I have one of these for my mom, but I had to share this little jewel with the rest of you. I do have this item up in my art fire and made it myself shops if anyone is interested. Should you desire this piece in a different color, then please send me a message and will do what I can. Happy Easter, and don't forget that Mothers Day on May 10th.

WE ARE THE CHAMPS!!!

OK, so I know that most of my blogs have been about my jewelry, but this time I am so excited and proud of my oldest daughter and her travel club volleyball team. Yesterday, April5th, 2009, my daughter and her volleyball team had a tournament here in washington. We traveled up the night before and stayed at a Best Western hotel. We found out in the morning that the girls were missing some of their teamates, so the girls were limited to 6 players, so that meant that everyone of the girls were going to be playing all day in every match. In the morning the team had to be at the courts by 8:30am. They started playing at 9:00am and the team played all day until 6pm. Most of the time, with teenagers, they have a hard time getting up and functioning, and these girls are no different. For the match of the morning, they were able to get moving but had a hard time talking to one another on the court. They won the first and second set of matches. They then had a break and that is when they seemed to fall apart a little, because they thought that they had more time to eat before they had to play again. Unfortunately, when they went back onto the court they lost that set of matches. However, they came back in the set to win those matches. This put them into the rankings as the second best team.

We then moved into the bracket play and the games started all over again. They played the next set up matches and were able to defeat every team that they came up against. At 5pm, that team that they had lost to was the same team that they were going up against again for the Championship title of the tournament. By this time of the day the girls were so tired, so what else could they do to get themselves energized quickly.....they all sat down and eat sugar and drank some caffinated drinks. Not my idea of the right thing to do, but these are teenagers that we are talking about...LOL.

When it came time to take the court about 25 minutes after the consumption of all the sugar, the girls were hyped up and ready to play the last game of the tournament. I was so proud of these girls, they went onto that court with the intension of defeating the other team. With that one goal in mind, the girls gave it all they had, they talked on the court, they moved together and they worked so well as a team. In the end, with this being the last tournament of the season, the team WON the tournament. They were so excited and the parents were so proud of the girls that we took them all out of ice cream at DQ.

I have found that these tournaments and team sports for the youth players have been so good for my daughter. It teaches them team spirit, team work, and how to have good sportsmenship. I highly encourage any community sports activity to any child that is interested in trying something new.

CONTRAGULATIONS MT. ADAMS TRAVEL VOLLEYBALL TEAM!!!!!!!

Officially Spring is here...but is it Really?

jewelry_011_500Ok, so I am the type of person who really likes to see all of the Seasons. But usually before one season is over, I am very ready for the next season to start. Like right now, the calendar says that Spring is here.....but I haven't seen it yet. I just wish that the weather would cooperate and be nice the way that spring is suppose to be. With all of the flowers in bloom, the baby animals being born, easter, etc and I an so tired of the weather being cold. So with all of that in mind, I have created this beautiful necklace with swarovski violet and clear crystals

I have designed this necklace with the thought of spring being here. I love all of the colors of the small flowers starting to bloom. I have made this necklace with a .925 Sterling Silver Figure Eight chain. To the middle 4 inches of the chain I have strung swarovski crystals accented with small 2mm sterling silver seamless beads. I have strung 10 4mm Violet Swarovski crystals and 9 Swarovski Clear AB crystals. Each set is attached to the sterling silver chain using 22gauge sterling silver eye pins. This necklace measures about 20 inches in length. All of my items come in a small gift box, ready to wear or to give as a gift. Should you have any questions or would like this style in a different color, please let me know. Thanks for looking and happy shopping!!!
